Hi Raj,
My company is looking forward to implement Demantra 7.2
I would like to know what is the best approach to push data into demantra and from demantra to ASCP.
Is it good to build new model using 1,2 or 3 tables or text files.
If upgrade then how do I do. I have gone through manuals but nothing seems to be very clear.
Thx in advance,
Suman
Hi Suman,
Selection of source as tables or flate file solely depends on the availbility of data.
In case, you are trying to build a demo model then you can use 3 table structure and load data for them using SQL loader.
About pushing data into Demantra and then pubilshign it back to ASCP, Oracle has provided seeded inbound and outbound integrations for this purpose. (For release 7.2 the integration is available with
R12 as well).
It is recommended not to build a new model, if you are new to Demantra world as there are complications involved around Model rebuilding. So you can modify existing Data model and can do away with only Upgrading Oracle's pre-seeded Data model.
In case your company needs any professional assistance in implementing Demantra then we would be eager to provide it.
Regards
Raj
Thanks Raj for replying back.
If we go by upgrading oracle seeded approach then how do we map the hierarcy.
I can get most of my data using one flat file. How do I go about upgrading the seeded structure.
Thx,
Suman
You can add higher levels in structure and can modify existing higher levels too (like sandwitching a lvl in between). But you should not delete the lowest level of provided hierarchy.
Map all the lvls with columns of staging table using Datamodel.

Hi Raj,
I work in a partner from Oracle in Argentina and I´m trying to understand the user guide from Dematra Demand Management, but I have a simple doubt. Must I read another guide for using the Demand Management soft? and, which is the usefullness to read: Oracle Demantra User Guide, Oracle Demantra Implementations and Oracle Demantra Deductions and Settlement Management? I dont understand if I must read them or not.
Thanks and regards,
Gustavo
Hi Gustavo,
Gud to see your comment, well based on what role you would be playing with the Demantra application, you can refer to corresponding guides.
1. As a Demand Analyst: (End user of application): Demantra's module specific user guides and "Demantra Spectrum Concepts" should be good to start with.
1. As a Demantra Consultant: (Power/Admin user of applicaton): Demantra's module specific user guides, "Demantra Spectrum Concepts", and Demantra implementation guide might be good starting point.
hope this helps.
Cheers
Raj
Hi Raj,
Thanks for your answer. Yesterday I was looking for the file called Demantra Spectrum Concepts, but there isnt in Oracle web page. Do you have any link where I can download this guide? What version of Demantra you installed in any customer? because I heard that the last version (7.2) is not operating with Oracle Business Suite, is true? Do you know why?
Regards and thanks,
Gustavo
Hi,
This guide would be available in Oracle Documentation Library undet MEtalink. (note Id:443969.1). This is actually an old document, but I found it is quite good.
I have worked on Demantra 7.1.1 implementation as well as on 7.2.
7.2 version of Demantra has a seeded integration with Oracle EBiz R12.0.3/4. For lower versions of Oracle EBiz, you will have to build custom integration with Demantra 7.2.
Raj
Hi Raj,
Thanks again!! I download the Demantra Spectrum and I´m going to read it.
Which Demantra version you advice to use for Business suite 11.5.10.2?
Is manual this integration? What are the integration points between Demantra x and Ebs 11.5.10.2? Is there some guide where I can read about this integration?
Regards,
Gustavo
Hi,
Well, for 11.5.10CU2 currently seeded integration is available with 7.1.1 only for Demantra' Demand Management module. Also being an old release, it is quite stable too.
The newer version 7.2 provides S&OP module's integration with EBS R12, but this seeded integration is not yet backported to 11.5.10CU2, which might be seeing geetin released soon in near future.
For a high level idea about the integration, you can refer to one of my previous post "http://oracledemantra.blogspot.com/2008/07/oracle-demantra-seeded-ebs-dm.html".
Details of integration are available on Metalink uder "Oracle Documentation Library (note Id:443969.1)" You will find it under Release 7.1.1 documentation with names like TOI.

Hi Raj,
You know that I cant see information in Demantra yet. When I click in any worksheet, appears a tree with an only word: UNASOCIETE o similar.
I was examining the different filters but when I open the filters` screen, this screen appears empty too.
¿any advice or suggest?
Thanks!
Gus
Hi Gus,
Check in back-end tables for data.
select * From t_ep_item;
This query should show items besides default/unassociated, if you have installed with standard demantra dump.
cheers
Raj
hi all,
we are trying to build a data model on Demantra 7.1 and after compileing when trying to login to collaborator workbench we recive: invalid username or password... please try again.
i don't know what's the problem
thx in advance.
alin
Hi Alin,
Are you using dm/dm login? Also check following
- Demantra collaborator.log for any error in Loading components.
- Can you login with sop/sop or ptp/ptp, to see if any other components are fine?
Till Component demand management is loaded properly during the Demantra server start, login problems can appear.
Cheers
Raj
Hi Raj,
We tried with all users/pass: dm/dm, sop/sop, ptp/ptp, and non work.
Since my last comment i drilled and found out that the problem can be MaxSalesGen parameter and max_sales_date.
What do you think about that?
And I want to ask you how can a demantra 7.2.0.1 version can be updraded to 7.2.0.2, is there a patch or something and where can i download it from?
thx very much,
alin
Hi Raj,
I installed demantra 7.3 from edelivery in my laptop but it doesnt have any demo data.
Is there any demo schema that I can import into the newly installed demantra 7.3
Or can I load items, customers and history info directly without building any hierarchies or changing any configuration in the existing release 7.3. so I have some demo data and see how it works.
Also can I install 7.2 and 7.3 in same laptop.
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Venky
Hi Venky,
There is no demo schema yet available for 7.3 release. So yes you will have to load your own demo date into Demantra.(items, locations, history etc.)
And yes you can have two or even more demantra installs on same machine(same or different versions). Just ensure you pick different port number, say instead of 8080, use 8085 or 8090.
Thanks
Raj
Hi,
Its quite impressive to read this blog. I have few quick question. I have installed Demantra 7.2.0.1. I am not able to access business modeler & Chaining Management from the Web based Workbench. The system gives a database error. The guides say Business Modeler is a desktop tool, so is it that I can't access these tools through the Workbench?
Thanks
Saumitra
Secondly, I can see demo data in the tables of 7.2.0.1. But the worksheets on the workbench shows no data, everything is empty. How can I utilize the demo data and analyze it on the worksheets, is it required to configure the settings(levels, series, etc) through the business modeler even for the demo data.
Hi Saumitra,
Thanks for the comment and sorry for delayed response. You can access these applications even from CWB, for the DB error you can find metalink note which points the solution for it. ( You need to ensure that you follow the instructions)
Demo data can be used without any additional configuration. When you open the worksheets, you need to change filters and add proper level members for which you know data exists in tables. Re-run the worksheet with changed filters and you should be good to go.
Thanks
Raj
Hi Raj,
I just installed Demantra 7.3/Oracle 10g on my laptop. I was able to access all of Demantra applications and was able to log on to Collaborator.
I then created a new model in Business Modeler and also created new WAR filee, and while it built successfully, I noticed that I was no longer able to log on to Collaborator. Can you help?
Rae
Hi Raj,
Does Oracle Dematra 7.2 version comes with seeded data?
Thanks..
